“Did we just take two hits of acid?” is what you might ask after seeing Capital I Productions’ adaptation of “the worst movie ever made.” Brian Adrian Koch has taken the 1960s cult classic horror flick and adapted it for the stage, adding in a video element, live band, and his own jokes. There are some good laughs throughout the show, making fun of the film and the low-budget theater backdrop. After the first twenty minutes, the overarching joke that this movie is really, really bad becomes gratuitous; by the time we arrived at the scene where all of Manos’ wives are dancing around in sheer clothes in his cellar, we kind of forgot what the joke was to being with.“Manos” could have benefitted from a fresh batch of jokes and an editor, but it's still a pretty entertaining evening.
