I also really enjoyed this article, Tonry. Nice to see you can write well about things that aren't "bands who are up front about their affection for cocaine and partying."

Seriously, if you all haven't been to Darcelle's, GO!!!! It's charming, fun, and a hoot. I had the joy of meeting Darcelle/Walter at a private party years ago, before I turned 21. He is a wonderful man, and so damn funny I was crying with laughter. When I got married, we had my bachelorette party at Darcelle's, and it was the best time ever. Seriously, go and have fun. I will shed a tear the day Darcelle's closes.

Wow -- was just wondering the other day if Darcelle was still doing shows -- I went there for either my 18th or my 21st birthday, can't remember which now, it was so so soooo long ago! Well, cheers to Darcelle and Roxy -- congratulations on so many years of fabulous entertainment and a toast to your legacy! :)

Please wait...
