Fiestaremos: Judy Frankel and the Sephardic Music Tradition (to give it its full title) is very much more than "Yet ANOTHER look at the traditional folk music of Sephardic Jews". It is the inspiring story of Judy Frankel, singer-songwriter of San Francisco, who although not Sephardi herself made it her life's work to preserve the music from a fast-disappearing tradition. Her voice was glorious; her musicianship outstanding. Judy Frankel died on March 20 2008. She was only 65. The music she helped to preserve; this film by Kate Regan are her legacy. I hope no-one will be put off by thinking it is just "another look" at Sephardic music (as if that were a bad thing anyway). tricia donovan
