Odd how WW reviewer basically called the character a gutless hipster wanker(paraphrasing, but close enough), but you thought it was like awesome dude!!! Hmmm, what does that tell me about you, your reviews or the Mercury itself? Pretty much what I already suspected, but that's ok, despite your hipster dorkism, I will still read the Mercury. If for no other reason than to put you hipster clowns on blast

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Whenever you write about comics, the first rule of entertainment journalism states that you must start with "Whoosh! Bam! Pow!" as a headline or subhead. Get it right!

Oh, and to that other guy who commented, you're probably a fucking hipster, so shut your douchetrap.

Okay, let me retrace my steps here. Showstopper, the only thing you ever fucking write about is hipsters, even when the writer isn't even talking about hipsters. It's obvious you have a lame chip on your shoulder. Maybe mom didn't breast feed you, I don't know. But in the future, try to write something constructive, instead of spending all your time whining. Assface.
WW is at least as hipster as TPM. It's just more commercial and less talented.

And as for Aaron Mesh: The main question is whether he's worse as a writer ("mutably haired" -- wtf?) or as a film critic. How he got and keeps that job is a major mystery. His reviews are reliably incoherent, solipsistic, and chock full o' verbal pratfalls.

Well, WWeek is right on with their review... both about Cera's character being a gutless unlikeable hipster AND the film being great regardless.

Armond White's a jerk-off, but he's right comparing this to "Kung Fu Hustle". Wright's about the only American comic director working near Chow's level of brilliance.

But WWeek is fucking wrong, wrong, wrong about Breathless... and you both seem to have consensus on The Expendables... and neither you have an exceptional film staff... so 1 - 1 this week.

This film is fully aware that its protagonist is kind of an idiot. Anyone who thinks that pointing that out constitues astute film criticism... Is also kind of an idiot.
7
Why does this reviewer have to use the word fuck in every one of his reviews, I'm not a prude, but it is something I've noticed, that, and he knows absolutely nothing about movies.

The movie is about Scott learning to be courageous and more honest, actually. And this is not a "great" movie. It is good. It is entertaining. It has some originality and humor. It is not a "great" movie.

@timistheword - not true, showstopper also constantly whines about people that moved to portland after him, along with his strange hipster fixation.

For those of you keeping score at home, so far this page contains the "H" word 10 times;
Once in the review and nine times in the comments section.
pretty average movie, saw it yesterday w/ a bunch of teenies. again, tell me, what is so revolutionary about this film? I found it sophomoric and the actors mostly 1-dimensional and the story line pretty stupid and the climax unsatisfactory. no characters are fleshed out very well and I didn't really know who to root for. it might live another 2 weeks in the theaters.

Please wait...
