Portland Farmers Market, Behind the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall between SW Salmon and Main, Wed, 10 am-2 pm weekly Avoid the overpriced atrocity that is Wild Oats' produce section, and buy your fresh tomatoes, apples, strawberries, mushrooms, herbs, and more at the downtown farmers market. Perfectly timed so you can drop by on your lunch break, this is just another great thing to take advantage of in Portland. KS

Division/Clinton Street Fair, SE Division between 12th and 50th, Clinton between 21st and 26th, Sat July 23, parade starts at 11 am at 16th and Division, festivities go all day

Take this opportunity to eat, shop, eat, and shop with the help of all the fine businesses in the Division/Clinton corridor. Also check out the petting zoo and the clown bounce (I assume this is one of those big, inflatable rooms where kids jump around). There will be sales aplenty, tons of vendors and info booths, bands, face painters, massage therapists, and a few OHSU folk trying to pimp the new FDA food pyramid. Ignore them and have fun. KS
