Gimme Doughnut: Raw Screening at Sabala's, Sat June 18, 8 pm, 4811 SE Hawthorne, 238-1646, $2

Portland's favorite downtown doughnut shop finally shows the public the inner workings of their successful operation. What this amounts to--for the most part--is watching the Voodoo Doughnuts employees get wasted at their staff party and cause mayhem and destruction all over Portland. (Sounds more exciting than watching people make doughnuts, anyway.) Also, stick around for a rousing and hilarious post-film commentary from Voodoo Doughnuts' founders Tres Shannon and Kenneth "Cat Daddy" Pogson. KS

Watermelon Eating Contest and Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party, CO7 Gallery, Sat June 18, 6 pm, SE 7th and Harrison

Think you can eat the most watermelon of anyone in the Portland area? Well it doesn't really matter, because this event promises to be fun anyway (although you should show up at 6 pm to register if you do think you've got skills). The CO7 gallery hosts this wet and sloppy contest, and will have a BBQ burning all night, plus a dance party afterwards. See local band Show Me the Pink play their final show and dance feverishly--that is, if you're not too full from watermelon. KS

Pedalpalooza's Breakfast Off the I-5 Bridge, Thursday June 16, 5:30-8:30 am, north and west end of the path just off the bridge, free

Do you commute from Vancouver by bike? Well, you're a better person than I am, and the Pedalpalooza organizers want to thank you for it. Leave home a few minutes early on Thursday morning and stop by their early morning gathering for a doughnut or bagel and a cup of joe, plus pick up some brochures and bike maps to help you be a more informed rider.
