If you can't afford a trip to the tropics, head out to this year's Lewis & Clark Lu'au for a taste of Hawaiian goodness. This surprisingly massive event is an evening of Hawaiian food, music, and performances, including nubile collegiate hula and fire dancers. This weekend, Edgefield will host winemakers from around the globe who will showcase their best Syrahs in a celebration of wine, food, and fun. Guest wineries include Abacela, Palmeri, L'Ecole No. 41, Elk Cove, Pheasant Valley, and many others. Gourmet reception and dinner will be held Friday night ($75). Barrel tasting will occur from noon to 2 pm on Saturday ($15) and the tasting and benefit silent auction will happen between 4-8 pm ($35), with proceeds going to the nonprofit ¡Salud!, which helps Oregon's seasonal vineyard workers obtain medical care.
