Plan B, 1305 SE 8th, 230-9020, daily 4-7 pm, $1 PBR, Hamms tall boys, Miller High Life, $3 wells and micros, cheap food

People really get emotional over Plan B for some reason. Maybe it's due to the rock 'n' roll vibe, their attitudinal staff, or all the fresh air permeating from its huge-ass patio. Personally, I think it might be their popular bacon-wrapped hotdogs. SB

The Press Club, 2621 SE Clinton, 233-5656, Tues-Fri 4-6 pm, $1 off cocktails, wine, and beer, cheap food

It would be impossible for me to explain how much I love the Press Club, though I will cite the amazingly attractive staff, the abundance of reading material, a lightning-fast wireless connection, and some elegantly delicious sandwiches. 'Nuff said? PAC

Produce Row Café, 204 SE Oak, 232-8355, Mon-Fri 4-7 pm, 50 cents off beers and well drinks, cheap food

Produce Row is where the Oregon microbrew movement began. You definitely get a sense of that history as you sit on the prodigious deck with a cold pint in your hands. The cobblestones that peek through the pavement outside help too. PAC

Raccoon Lodge and Brew Pub, 7424 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy, 296-0110, Mon-Fri 4-7 pm, 9 pm to close, Sat-Sun all day, $3.75 imperial stouts, food specials

Don't come here if your goal is to pick up on the hot, hip crowd. This is a place for those who prefer sipping on amazing in-house beer while chowing down on greasy American food. SB
