Southeast's loveable little co-op offers a year-round loveable little farmers market in the odd timeslot of Wednesday afternoon. Take a break from the grind and drop by to peruse a variety of fresh, local produce, breads, and cheeses, all grown and made sustainably without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers. JWS

Vancouver Farmers Market, 8th and Esther in downtown Vancouver, Sat 9 am–3 pm

This one gets bigger every year, now featuring a year-round indoor extension and original local artwork for sale, in addition to the plethora of fresh farm eggs, natural meats and seafood products, and hormone-free milk and butter. Plus, every Saturday in May (and April 29), 11 am, Executive Chef Nathan Read, of Vancouver's acclaimed restaurant Gray's at the Park, will be holding a cooking demo incorporating the season's produce selection.
