Re: “In Other News

Ha ha Fluoride lost!

Re: “In Other News

I thought I read in the O that the cost of the mounted patrol is well over the 175000 figure you list - so much so that a 75,000 donation is still just a drop in the bucket.

Re: “In Other News

How about a smooth move that's better than Ex Lax? Let's flush the rest of these Wiener people and their big industrial chemical polluter money out of our lives for good. Vote no.

It appears the NOTA (none of the above) option should be applied to political campaigns and not just propositions, measures and the like.

Re: “In Other News

You do those who signed the petition challenging Portland City Council's unanimous approval of fluoridation a great disservice by calling us "foes."

What many of us aree opposed to is not fluoridation, but back door deals and circumvention of public process.

If this issue is voted down, the City Council and mayor only have themselves to blame for trying to pour it down our throats without input from those who drink the water.

Re: “In Other News

I hope that something really significant happens because the funds to prevent it were diverted to the costs of funding the fluoridation issue. People are blindly up in arms over not having a vote in the matter as if the government has done something despicable instead of moving towards a standard that no rightful or sane mind has ever been able to present any reliable evidence against. I hope it gets humiliatingly defeated so those who worked so hard against it will feel like idiots. And as much as I hate to say it, it nearly makes me cry to even think it, but I hope that Amanda Fritz loses her seat largely as a result of the smears against her by the fluoridation people and her opponent using it as a wedge issue. Amanda Fritz is a better politician than Portland even deserves, and she will likely be defeated because of idiot moves like this and her steadfast unwillingness to accept the money she would need to fight against her opponent when issues like this are used against her in big money advertising campaigns.

Re: “In Other News

I admire any attempts to improve the safety on Foster; I lived in the neighborhood for years, and my nephews live there still, thankfully. But I gotta tell you, you can light up the pedestrian crossings like Barbie-house-disco-balls and it will not change the safety on that stretch one fucking iota until ONE, the speed limit is substantially reduced, and TWO, there is CONSISTENT ENFORCEMENT by a dedicated patrol system. We don't now have, and never have had, the level of enforcement of the *existing* traffic laws in our neighborhood, and the reason for this is, that is where the poor people live. And the attitude of police is, screw the poor people. Seriously.

Re: “In Other News

There are so many factual errors in this story it's difficult to know where to start, but here goes. First, the event Sunday wasn't a protest, but an act of land liberation. Second, it wasn't sponsored by PLOC (nor was PLOC the only and principle organizer of the May Day action - that distinction would have to include reference to the Black Working Group to whom Alicia Jackson went to for help in reclaiming her home, but what's new about Black people in leadership being discredited for and replaced by White people?), but by the Blazing Arrow Organization which has no ties to Occupy whatsoever (every action these days is immediately credited to Occupy without even two seconds of research being done). Finally, that building in question was purchased after Alicia's land was stolen through a predatory lending scam no different than any other financial scam. The community members on Sunday, tired of the government doing nothing to stop the actions of these predatory banks, decided to take action into it's own hands. The corporate media is labeling this developer as a victim when he has made mad money profiting off the misery of hardworking class people. He's no victim and the people on Sunday are no burglars. All of that is obvious to anyone who takes five minutes to find out what's really going on across the world today. Sadly, the Mercury is supposed to be an alternative news source. With friends like you we don't need any enemies.

Re: “In Other News

Two cops Eric Carlson and John Ray broke into multiple apartments on March 26th 2007 and they raped and photographed children and they murdered one of them and they poisoned Joan Wagar's husbands coffee pot!

Joan Wagar was having an affair with Eric Carlson and John Ray and those law officer's were framing Joan Wagar's husband to get the blame!
Eric Carlson and John Ray and Joan Wagar are caught bragging about their crimes to Clackamas Walmart employees and they are caught on a audio recorder Joan Wagar's husband put in her purse!

The Portland police and Multnomah county sheriff's approved flyers to be printed and issued publicly because of these crimes but the flyers gave Joan Wagar's husband the blame!
After the fact the Portland police and Multnomah county sheriff's have been trying to suppress this information from the public and have covered up victims 911 calls!

Last name of the child Eric Carlson and John Ray murdered is/was Hunter! they committed their crimes early in the morning near 87th and Division st.

Re: “In Other News

The Portland police do not answer to felony complaints and will ignore citizens complaints and they cover up victims 911 calls and they don't care if anyone knows it either!
I blog my complaints all over the internet just to prove I HAVE complaints because the Portland police cover up my 911 calls and pretend after the fact nothings reported!

My life has been threatened by police officer's so I am in a life threatening situation of which 911 does not get HELP!
