Re: “A Failure of Imagination

Great article!!! Thank you for bringing this topic up in such a spirit of inclusivity and equality! Disability Art and Culture Project is also doing great work in Portland with mixed abilities performance of people with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, and non-disabled performers.

Re: “A Case of Emophilia

It took four times longer to read this interview in his stage voice.

Re: “A Case of Emophilia

He really is a lot funnier than he sounds in this interview. Genius is right, though.

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

I'm going to check out of this thread because somehow merely stating my opinion about Improv has become very douchy. Anybody is welcome to whatever hackery they like. I shouldn't have made a stir about it. Maybe it is all good these talent-free stiffs have somewhere to go.

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

the only really effective rebuttal to someone who thinks great improv doesn't exist is showing them good improv. I wish I could transport the Sunday Service's set from last night into this thread.

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

or maybe better improv up a Bad Sequel to Hunger Games where the teen contestants don't actually fight but just sit around and viciously mock each other's pathetic lack of secondary sexual characteristics.

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

Ahh ok now we know who dropped those dislikes on me.

Here's some improv Whitney Johnson why don't you make like a nissan leaf and blow up.

BAM.

PS: if i was going to riff on your pituitary game blunder i would definitely draw a pictionary of a starfish to mock your lack of secondary sexual characteristics.

BAM

"Pictionary games"... Though it's way beyond pituitary games too.

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

Wow "I'm right" it sounds like you're pretty ignorant of the art form. It's way beyond "2 drink minimum pituitary games." Also, with all of your "off the cuff" abilities, I'm curious. .. where have you done improv?

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

I wasn't trying to be funny. Improv is super lame. What's with all the dislikes?

Re: “Comedy's Endless Boom

Temple, improv is for hacks. It's *giggle* funny to people who have no off-the-cuff ability at all and are amazed at those who do.
Nothing good ever comes from cover charge 2 drink minimum pictionary games.

Re: “Eating Accomplishment and Shitting Inconsideration

Re: “Puppet King

Thanks for expounding. "Puppeteers and co-creators" is intended as shorthand, not short shrift.

Re: “Puppet King

Calling Brian and Wendy Froud puppeteers seems limited at best. Brian Froud essentially designed/styled the entire universe for those films (Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal), and I thought Wendy was largely a sculptor and fabricator? Both very creative and talented people, who clearly had a very creative and talented son. Can't wait to see the film.

Re: “Funny Abortion Stuff

@Andrew, I know you have a tough job coaxing people out who are otherwise only doing press to fill seats. I'm also not a huge fan of the rather tired MIB persona. Still, I'd probably be annoyed too if I got some flavor of, "where do your jokes come from?," "do you wonder if your career is over?," "when will you stop doing standup?," and "aren't you worried you peaked 15-20 years ago?"
