Being a minority who isn't black, I'm torn on how to feel about this "Whites-only" Oscar controversy. On one side, yes, I do believe there is inherent racism in the film industry. On the other side, I would like it if people would include ALL people of color. The way that my race is portrayed in movies is through nannies, gardeners, cooks or gangsters (can you guess what I am?). Everybody, including African-Americans, is fine with this portrayal of a certain race of people.

I'm tired of race being defined as a black and white issue in this country. It would be nice to include all people of color when pointing out the racism in our society. But no… I just sit here in the middle listening to the usual two sides bicker over the issue.

And by the way, I looked up all the 2015 movies with black actors and only a couple got above a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes, so I'm wondering which black actor was "robbed" of an Oscar nomination? I did watch a few of these movies and came away with the feeling of "meh" with all of them… they weren't that good. Straight Outta Compton blew so many chunks, I couldn't even finish it.

This all being said, Leo was long overdue for his award… go Leo!
