Assuming (as you do) that the guy who ridiculed you is actually from Portland, what makes you think he's participating in the protests? Which, by the way, are falling well short of burning down our fair city. I agree that people did not take the threat of Trump nearly seriously enough, but you've done some Olympic-level conclusion jumping here.
