By East Portland, do you mean John Day? A 15 minute drive to a grocery store in Portland?

Dude, there are different kinds of mail delivery routes and the carrier has zero say in it. Some routes are walking routes and some are driving routes. If the mailbox is blocked on a driving route than the carrier can't do his job that in the way and the time they are expected to. No one likes people interfering with their job. You should wait before you speak and try to think about what the other persons life is like first.

If you think being a mail carrier is easy and fun, I invite you to apply for a job with USPS. You stand a good chance of getting hired because the turnover is very high. You will be expected to finish your route under a very tight time schedule no matter how much work you have, or how shitty the weather happens to be that day. You will have to keep moving at a brisk pace all day long at all costs (you'll be delivering to several hundred addresses daily) , and this is why you too will be irritated when some lunkhead is blocking your access to any of the boxes on your route.

Please wait...
