I was tempted to be a dick and point out how y'all fucked yourselves over that west coast port slow down thing. But then, longshore is about the only solid union left. I'm hoping you folks can quit with the epic swearing and menacing stare downs and actually show us all what a unified labor force can do.

I think Harry Stamper would be pretty disappointed in you for voting for that bastard.

@caryatid - I'm disappointed in you for referencing the movie Armageddon.

I don't work on the docks, but my father, grandfather, several uncles, cousins and an aunt have been active on the waterfront for 70 years.

It's nice that you've come to your senses but, and I’ve certainly seen enough of this in my local, but I really would like to know.

What the fuck are you people thinking voting for a party that is consistently, constantly and relentlely anti-union? Y'all are as bad as the god damned (I've got mine, fuck the rest of the AFSCME), cops. It’s literally part of the GOP platform, they want to remove your right to collectively bargain, they demonize your pay, your vacation, your pgp, your healthcare (cadillac plan anyone?) and the inabillity for employers to fire you at will. They paint you as the problem with american labor relations. You are held up as the worst examples of overpaid, work-shy, coddled, corrupt, and worthless employees….because you have leverage as part of a union.
Why on earth would you vote for these people? Management isn't your friend, they work for the company, the company backs the GOP and vice versa.

It’s a good thing that the classless buffoon occupying the oval office can’t get a damn thing done, because you can bet your ass that a nationwide right-to-work bill has already been written by ALEC and is just waiting for someone to sponsor it. (How do you not know this?)

Please wait...
