To the diva teacher who snitched on me because I gave a student an after-school snack after the designated snack time was over:
The poor kid's five years old, had lunch at 11:30 and now it's almost 5:00. He's hungry. It's not his fault that his undoubtedly overworked or stressed-out parents (I've been there myself) forgot to pack an extra snack in his bag. We all slip up. But kids shouldn't have to pay for it. So I gave him a late snack, thereby breaking the rules. You chewed me out in front of the whole room. But you know what? I don't care. You're a big fish in a tiny pond. You get your power by bossing underlings around. I've got better things to do than stew over you. And I'm going to keep doing the right thing.
