You actually don't have that right. You have the right to park for up to 24 hours. Bitchy and unreasonable, but your neighbor's correct here - 2 days without moving is a parking violation. That said, they can't tow you. It's city property, all they can do is report you to parking enforcement who is slow as fuck to respond to anything so they'll just sit there stewing until they get around to it in a few weeks.
