Full disclosure: I was in a bad mood after some jackass cut in front of me in the ticket line, then did the same thing to me in the drink line. He was about 55, wearing a cowboy hat, with a much younger blonde woman.
Unfortunately, much of the crowd at Saturday's Portland Fashion Week event seemed right in step with Mr. Midlife Crisis. The friend I was with kept asking, "Are we still in Portland?"
Deep breath. I'm here for the clothes.
There were a few standouts, but mostly I think everyone played it safe. In this economy, who can blame them, right? Still, I wish I had seen a little more daring...and a little less jersey.
