Last Thursday, OSU’s annual fashion show took place at the CH2M-Hill Alumni Center in Corvallis. Students in the Department of Design and Human Environment produced “Equinox: Where Dark Meets Light." The show featured collections from both Junior, and Senior designers. After a brief introduction, the lights dimmed and the long white runway came alive. With so many designers, showing everything from menswear, womenswear, sportswear, and bridal, the show had something for everyone. To me, the three-standout collections were by: Amanda Grisham, Erika Christiansen, and Kierra Smith.

Grisham partnered with Pendleton, using their signature fabrics to make a truly native chic collection. Flouncy jackets, lux fur trim, and body conscious dresses tailored to perfection easily made this collection a favorite of the evening. Smart styling choices like lush leather gloves, and colorful knit caps complimented the overall tone of the garments.

Christiansen showcased one of the most wearable collections; I left the show wanting to know if I could buy the pink ballerina inspired skirt! Featuring effortlessly feminine separates, and dresses, this collection was as sweet as could be.

Kierra Smith was the last designer down the runway, and she surely did not disappoint. Her contemporary, yet couture inspired bridal collection was absolutely stunning. Every detail was stitched to perfection, yards of tulle and exquisite silk along with two long years of work, came together beautifully to make this collection one of the best.
