Thanks to good old Cupid, this weekend is especially brimming with sale events on the local retail front, so if you're thinking of re-upping on some staples, especially cold-weather items like coats and sweaters, but you're tired of getting all your clothing from naked lady parties and thrift stores, this is a good time to stretch your dollars on quality, often locally produced items. SUCH AS:
-Haunt (the collective boutique made up of Holly Stalder, Laura Irwin's Precious Knit, and Demimonde Jewelry) are throwing a V-Day shindig tonight featuring Trish Grantham artwork, but dealhounds should note that Demimonde pieces will also be 15% off during the event. That runs from 5-9 pm
-Mink is having a wee dress sale in honor of the heart holiday. It's just 10% off their selection of frocks, but hey, every bit helps. Plus you can enter to win a raffle prize. Good on Sunday too!
-The PDX Collective Sale lets you access a ton of favorite shops under one roof: Abrahams & Duffy, Betsy & Iya, FOLLY, Isaac Hers, Lizard Lounge, Mabel & Zora, Parts + Labour, Physical Element, Radish Underground, Tumbleweed, and Zella Shoes. For the most part these shops have more of a mid-range price point than the vendors at Luce (see below), so budget accordingly. There should be a smattering of menswear here from Lizard and Radish. This'll be at the Ace Hotel Cleaners from 10 am-5 pm Saturday and 11 am-5 pm Sunday.
-Today features an all-star lineup of designers and shops moving their end-of season inventory: Stand Up Comedy, Adam Arnold, The English Dept., Lille Boutique, Machus, and Una. This is a great one for men and women. Total dream team. Pray they make it annual. That'll be at Luce from 11 am-3 pm.
-Palace is kicking off their "Lovers Sale" today, with 20% off select brand like DS & Durga, OLO perfume, Hazel Cox jewelry, and Lucca cards and BUTTER nail polish—hit that any day through Tuesday.
