I just read somewhere that co-ops are the quickest-growing business model right now, and, nicely timed, a missive from The Make House arrives. A collection of various artists' studios (collectively they cover a lot of ground, including "fine art, functional art, graphic art and illustration, fashion, jewelry and screen printing") under one NE Alberta roof (1732 NE Alberta to be precise), The Make House, which is slated for an official grand opening debut on Friday, March 16 (6-9 pm). The space also includes a retail front, an area devoted as a community space for people to make their own projects, screen printing classes and services, and studio rentals. You can get a preview of the flavor in their small online shop before heading down—you've no doubt noticed their sign if you've been to Alberta recently, but if you haven't been in, consider this your engraved invitation.
