One of the biggest fashion events of the summer is just over the horizon. In this week's paper, I interviewed Cassie Ridgway, Honey Bijoux designer and owner of Mag-Big, who founded the Alley 33 fashion show last summer as a way of putting small production clothing "in the public eye rather than in an exclusive setting," resulting in an outdoor, open-air show replete with a beer garden and a huge, diverse lineup of 117 looks—some of which will be modeled by musicians and other public figures. Read the whole event description here, slather on some SPF, and come check out what your local small-scale design community is getting up to.
