It is never too early to start thinking about doing a little spring cleaning, even as we thaw out from this latest snowstorm. Luckily, a fun opportunity to clean out your closet (and support a good cause) is just around the corner.
Modified Style Portland, the organization behind some of the city's more notable sustainability focused fashion events, has announced the date for their 2nd Annual Clothing Swap—a fundraiser to help support their 2014 recycled fashion show, as well as this year's benefactors Community Transitional School and P:EAR.
Head down to Bridgeport Brewery on Sunday, March 2nd from 3-7 pm with a bag of gently used clothing and get into the swap for $5 (it's $10 if you come empty handed). You'll have the chance to donate your duds and freshen up your wardrobe to support local charities. Expect a selection of men's and women's clothing, shoes, and accessories at the event. The MSP crew is also accepting fabric donations, which will be used for the 2014 fashion event.
Modified Style aims to highlight how easy and fun it is to donate to worthwhile causes. So start digging through your closets and get your swap on. Check out their Facebook event page for more info and updates.
