Yep. It is true. I am from Portland and now I am living in Guam with the Navy. My (free 3 bedroom) house is less then a 3 minute walk from a private beach. They also have a Marina where you can keep and launch your boat and Gab Gab beach which has the best diving and snorkeling on island. I have lived here for one year and I have taken the sailing lessons, gotten scuba certified, taken out pontoon boats, kayaked, done boonie stomps and explored caves. They really take care of their people. We get the best of everything for free or a really low cost. I am really happy I took my chances and moved here. I was a skeptic, but now I am just kicking myself for not doing this earlier.

Yeah, my uncle's a Vietnam vet, and he spent most of his tour being a lifeguard and tanning on a beautiful secluded beach. Luck of the draw, here.

It's certainly comforting to know my tax dollars are keeping servicemen on vacation.
