Great interview with a local hero! Very grateful to Leo Rhodes for his vision and leadership. And thanks to Right 2 Survive who has been advocating for legal camping and doing creative non-violent direct action for a long time.

Mr. Rhodes I am not trying to steal your thunder here.

I have been homeless on and off since 17 years of age 1980 and when I was a youngster I camped on the outskirts of a small lumber town and people didn't bother me even the law left me alone.

Latley one can't throw a tarp on the ground and get 40 winks without a security guy waking one up. I have no gripe with the security personnel we have to keep the venerable safe. Mom's and kids and dogs from being harassed while out shopping.

But in the last decade or so I couldn't even hike up in the forest throw a tarp down and get some sleep without one of the young men either training for sport or an occupation showing up and waking me to see if I was asleep.

Please wait...
