It's the best place in the world to be on a late summer evening. Seriously.

"Goldingay's wife, Carol Otis, wrote the Mercury to note she'd invited the city council's most vocal temperance advocate, Amanda Fritz, to the pod so she could see what it's really like. She says Fritz, running for re-election in November, told her she wouldn't be free until after Election Day."

Ohh, how cunning of her! Commish Fritz - who'd by far been to most loud-mouthed about this (as well as her shrill and hysterical advocacy for "alcohol-impact" areas) can't be bothered to stop by, can't take out a measly one hour to see for herself. Thing is, if she were to lose re-election in Nov. why the Hell would she even bother? But if she were to win, why the Hell would she even bother?

I know Fritz is "above" reading the Mercury, much less these on-line comments. But in the razor-slim chance she might, here's my proposal to her directly: VISIT CARTLANDIA. Find the time b/t now and Nov. See for yourself that it is NOT the sleazy, drunken crime hole ghetto blight that you soo fanatically claimed it would [surely] turn into. Publicly admit you were wrong, though your intentions were pure. Be straight-up.

Commissioner Fritz, if you did this many more people would vote for you! I would vote for you!

yeah, commissioner fritz -- and while you're there, see if you can somehow get the mexican food cart in the NW section of the pod to consistently have chile rellenos on hand -- they seem to be out every time i stop by -- and then i'm forced to have a liquid lunch with the help of that Goldingay drug-dealer dude.

Please wait...
