It is a bad idea to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in conventional infrastructure when we are on the brink of a transportation technological revolution. New technologies, that will eventually culminate in driver-less vehicles, will soon enough allow many more people and vehicles to travel in the existing corridor space than is possible now. Portland should invest in these technologies instead of building more monuments to the follies of the past century.
