Nike also lobbied the legislators to receive a 35 year waiver from being incorporated into Beaverton. Which means they won't have to support local schools for years. Schools need teachers & books not just football uniforms.

How is "actively negotiating" not threatening to "break up"? Either they are or they aren't.

If you live in unincorporated counties, you still pay taxes to schools. Schools are districts, not cities. Some cities have more than one district overlaid.
