Almost all blue-collar jobs are subject to drug screening and then random testing - for safety of workers (and I imagine better insurance rates), and I fail to see how cops carrying firearms have evaded this for so long now.
You'd think cops, of all people, would have nothing to hide either.

Thanks for pointing this out, Denis. It really WAS a once in a decade confluence of events to fix the police oversight. Too bad, sooo sad ... Maybe we'll see some changes to police oversight in 2022 ... Adams is too busy trying to cover up/run from his dark past and building phallic monuments. He really whiffed on the nuts and bolts of being Mayor. Here's hoping our next candidate is a little more mature.
