How about this - How about the folks in Inner SE and NE Portland agree to have the assessed values of their homes adjusted up to match the higher assessed value to actual value ratio of homes in East Portland. That should bring in a lot of revenue to the general fund that could be programmed for housing.
Until this inequity is addressed, it's really not fair to ask East Portlanders to continue paying more than their fair share in the form of a levy to fix problems that the gentrification of inner Portland is causing.
