In the October of 2013 sweep of SE 92nd and SE Flavel we had over 100 vehicles, mostly ODOT but Multnomah County Inmate Crews did the clean up. Portland Police was on standby in the event there was trouble. The only trouble was ODOT laughing at a deaf homeless man try to move his few belongings up a steep hill in a shopping cart. He fell backwards and much of his stuff ended up in Johnson Creek. Another older man died from exposure when ODOT took all of his belongings. Both Pastor Mike and I tried to let him keep his tent but ODOT and Multnomah County Sheriff's Department advised us that he could come get his stuff out of storage at a warehouse a far distance away. We then witnessed all of his belongings put into garbage not storage. This should have been viewed as criminal!

im curious how the city is viewing more urban camps that are clearly becoming a nuisance. mostly the steel bridge camp which has become a huge problem for the neighbors to the north and to park and sidewalk users which the camp is now starting to block. its a bad situation for everybody involved.
