One does not need permission to audio record another (cops included); one only needs to inform the other party they are being recorded. (and no notification is needed for video only) There is a law on the books exempting police from this notification for dash cams when they are uniformed and acting within an official capacity. The law change request would add body cams. Please don't lead people into they thinking they have rights (can tell cops to not record) they do not have lest you share the culpability when it inevitably goes bad.
