Oh nope, 1973. YOU'RE OFF YOUR ROCKER.
It just occurred to me that you might be unaware of the fact that the Nic Cage version was a remake.
The Wicker Man sequel was "unasked-for"? What the fuck? Do you even know what kind of persevering, dedicated cult following and critical acclaim that film has?
Wow, my new favorite part of this free online newspaper.

Hey correction: "Icons Among Us: Jazz in the Present Tense
'A lively and insightful snapshot of today's jazz scene.' Narrated by John Stockton." is not narrated by John Stockton. It is narrated by the musicians themselves.
It will be great to watch Disney Live! Rockin' Road Show, i have bought tickets from
http://ticketfront.com/event/Disney_Live_R… looking forward to it.
Out of these I would most highly recommend Bright Star and The Baader Meinhof Complex. Bright Star is stunning, and The Baader Meinhof is exciting and intellectually stimulating. Great films.

Fiestaremos: Judy Frankel and the Sephardic Music Tradition (to give it its full title) is very much more than "Yet ANOTHER look at the traditional folk music of Sephardic Jews". It is the inspiring story of Judy Frankel, singer-songwriter of San Francisco, who although not Sephardi herself made it her life's work to preserve the music from a fast-disappearing tradition. Her voice was glorious; her musicianship outstanding. Judy Frankel died on March 20 2008. She was only 65. The music she helped to preserve; this film by Kate Regan are her legacy. I hope no-one will be put off by thinking it is just "another look" at Sephardic music (as if that were a bad thing anyway). tricia donovan
Chicago 10 is a SOLID political documentary!! A must see!! The use of mixed media is excellent. I rented it at Blockbuster a few weeks ago, and there was only 1 left out of 6 or so copies. Political documentary-wise: also, check out the non-partisan "Split: A Divided America" (2008.) SPLIT is produced by Portland-born Jeff Beard (son of Beard Frame Shops founder, Terry Beard. Jeff and Terry Beard are actually looking for more documentaries to invest in...) Political documentaries rock! So much for the bailout...
Re: “Film Shorts”
regarding 'this must be the place':
that is the title of a talking heads tune, so i imagine including david byrne in the film isn't such an odd thing.
