Auto apes Scorsese's gangster flicks, Red Dead Redemption is a pastiche of classic westerns, and Max Payne 3 is a modern, ?

I agree. The "Tanooki Suit" is and will always be the best of Mario.
That one goomba boot from World 5 in SMB3 was actually the best element of any Mario game, but I'm pleased to hear this game is solid. I'll add it to my list.
That game is so good. I used to spend hours running around the map, trying to find places I hadn't seen before. I just wish there was a little bit more to the game world, as gorgeous it was.
That arrow aint' gonna do shit. You need to climb up that fool, just like you climbed out of the water to get up that platform where you are now. Even your horse knows that.
A candy bar, please.
Nice. We've been waiting for a new four player online game that has lots of explosions. This looks good.
4th Edition D&D is pretty much pandering to the WoW crowd, so I was surprised you didn't make that comparison. I just started playing with a 4E group in Oakland and it's pretty strange to me how the rules feel like a video game. Healing surges? Goddamn, I had to scrounge draughts of potions of extra healing for years, and now I can get 1/4 of my HP back as a standard action? This ain't no Gygaxian age anymore...
It's great, sure... but the single player mode can be completed in an afternoon.
Since I have a legendary disdain for the human race, multiplayer means nothing but an uncooperative and un-fun headache, and therefore adds nothing to the game itself.
I love the excellent writing, humor, innovative gameplay, and new elements, BUT I NEED MORE! Especially for the 29.99-54.99 it's selling at on various platforms.
I'm not sure it's safe to say it's Game of the Year 2011. It's April. And Mass Effect 3 doesn't come out to Q4.
I'll spend $10 during a steam sale this holiday. No more.
I can't wait to play this. I'm currently replaying the GBA games and am really looking forward to this.
Dead Rising gives me a girl-boner.
The first one owned my life for several months. This is doing the same.
Gotta hit the co-op...
Yeah, and Slueth, like I said, the new style is SO radically different that Madden is almost an entirely different game from NCAA. If you have any possible way to get Madden, I urge you to do so.
If I recommend that non football fans give Madden 11 a chance that essentially translates to "football fans, get out there and buy this fucking thing right now, even if it means you won't be able to eat for the next week!!!"
I went with the NCAA game as I normally do cause I'm more of a college fan but have always enjoyed the Madden series, just have a hard time dropping another 60 to have two football games. Wish EA had a bundle option for the two games. I'll prolly have to miss out on Madden again as Reach and New Vegas are taking priority over a second football game which is a shame because Madden always seems to have the new play style.
This years Portland Retro Gaming Expo is primed to be even bigger and better then last year. It's awesome that you're covering the show.
Not only will there be the retro and classic gaming goodness you've mentioned above, but the Commodore Computer Club and Users Group from Vancouver, WA – that's us :) – will be on hand with working Commodore 64's and Vic-20's showing off some amazing gameplay and also rocking a Commodore vendor table as well with lots of gaming fun.
See you at the 2010 PRGE!
