Such a good price to see this band play live! Cant wait until they rock the roof off of the hawthorne tonight! Grab a ticket while you still can
Ew "fad dieting"? What's with the biased and uneducated tagline? Put down the pabst and do your research, Mercury.
The Doug Fir is the best venue in Portland. Deaf Havana is going to blow the roof off that place! Just look at some of this concert footage http://youtu.be/pZXRc-KUHRA
Zzzzzzz with him.
I hear Prefuse 73 is handing out cards with a link to an exclusive song for fans to listen to and remix, keep an eye out for those! :)
Great live performers, some of the best jazz musicians in PDX, and all the Sinatra Rat Pack music you could ask for. Highly recommend going.
cold stumptown bottled coffee is the bomb
The show runs until Jan 25! The art installation connected to the show is great and open for free to every body!

Get your shit stolen in this part of town.
Amazing atmosphere, swanky cocktails, DEE-licious cuisine and top notch DJ's. The place could use a second bar or a few cocktail servers but other than that, it's a hot, hot spot!
The Symphony and Chorus were terrific as were the duets and soloists. The 9th Symphony was inspiring and beautiful.
The Von Trapps were more of sensational component than able bodied singers.
The program seriously bogged down when Thomas Lauderdale spoke. He really is a poor MC in his cadence, hesitations and comments. Has anyone ever dared to encouraged him to get some vocal training? The show also dragged with Gus Van Sant muddling through Moon River and the twin governors painful croaking as they try to read the new lyrics to This State Is My State. They demolished Woody Gutherie. They could at least show some respect and memorize the words and rehearse it. Forget the first half of the program, really. Kinda hyped up with some mostly forgettable moments.
It's Friday 27th not Thursday
Thanks Bob for the great writeup! We are really stoked about this show and the whole album!!
Review their discography, Mark. Especially their self-titled album and Out of the Vein. Jenkins' is an excellent songwriter and has a niche for getting you hooked on catchy pop/rock tunes while hiding their dark lyrics. Semi-Charmed is a prime example. Truthfully, I think because of the Top 40 success early in their careers they've been discounted as 'one-hit-wonders', when they should have been more underground than mainstream. The resurgence they have experienced over the past few years is only proof of that. The mainstream faded away and now they are being re-discovered on playlists and "best of" lists by millennials.
If you didn't go you missed out! :D
Going to be a great show.
