Just may be the best fried chicken anywhere, and they definitely serve the best chicken and waffles. Off 'da charts. Highly recommended 'best in the U.S.'
My husband and I heard that the fish and chips here were excellent. We had not read any online reviews before visiting the restaurant. When we arrived a little after 6pm on a Sunday the restaurant was closed for a few hours of remodeling according to a note on the door, but the owner invited us in. There was a lot of extra furniture and a fridge in the main dining area, but the place looked clean, so we decided to give it a try. The wait for the food was a little on the long side, but I was actually really impressed by it when it arrived. Everything was very fresh and the portion size was good. We had clam chowder and fish-and-chips (deep-fried halibut, tartar sauce, fried sliced potatoes, brussel sprouts, risotto and a small lettuce salad) and poached salmon. The owner/chef/server was quirky yet charming. Toward the end of our meal a Winnebago drove up and dropped off a large group of bartenders who had their holiday party in the karaoke bar. It was fun, unique and authentic. We will go back again.
this place is amazing.
the pizza is good and sometimes if it looks like you've been crying, probably because you are a PSU student, they'll hook it up.
I am from the same town as owner is and let me tell you these cevapi hit the memory lane. Taste like back home! Great place to catch a game, have Bosnian coffee, and order yourself cevapi along with Nektar beer. Lucky to have 442. Thanks Mufko!
One of my favorite venues! Cant wait to see Conway open there tomorrow night at 8:00.
I have been coming to this restaurant for sometime now and have never had a bad meal or experience with rudeness. However, I know they turn away allot of people who come in and try to use their restroom. The place is right next to the MAX station on 82nd and which is the reason Elmer's left. The drug addicts and disrespectful youth that ride the transit system have created issues at this restaurant. While I was eating here one day, a man and his girl friend came in to use the restroom and was turned away because they were not customers. The man smashed the window with his hand on his way by the window. He took off and left his girl friend to answer to the police when the showed up. The police like this place and showed up very fast and given the location they know was well as the law abiding public that this area is frequent by creeps. So don't listen to the bad reviews as I believe they made up by those who are the ones who have a beef with the owners. The place is always clean, food has always been fresh and very good and the staff is always friendly to customers.
A curious spot which is a fair amount larger than it appears from the outside. Featuring free live local music a couple times a week, so it's difficult to complain much, and I've enjoyed some great shows there. A great back patio area when the weather is good. Pretty good fish and chips.
My band Race of Strangers has played here four going on five times now we have played many of the good venues here and town that being said the Analog has given us the best sound and accommodations yet and the staff and sound guy Dave are amazing.
As a patron the menu is very good with the best mac & cheese around also the white wine sauce clams are a personal favorite.
Come check it out this Halloween night 2013 If you can we will be there.
Glad they closed. The food was alright but WAY overpriced. Ian the co-owner/manager is a piece of s**t. At the time of writing this, a few different former employees are still owed back paychecks.
Not as great if you want to pay more for drinks because bartender can't keep track and to try and explain to them yet still have to pay!!NO as for DJ this new joke of a person not only dresses like a tool but what comes out of his mouth is even worse!!! Awful experience will never go back please pass this on!!
Clean, corporate, noisy, kid-friendly. If you have small children, there is a play area for them. If you don't have kids, be forewarned. There will be small children here.
This location is now the Laurelwood Pub.
Ask to sit in the speakeasy. Its behind the coatrack. Password is 123 Skidoo. TELL EM OLAF sent you and they will comp you a drink.
I ordered the hush puppies, blackened fried catfish and garlic mashed potatoes. They serve instant mashed potatoes now! Tacky and gross. When I asked about it, I was told that they do that sometimes when they run out. Geez, ever heard of "86" when something runs out rather than slipping in some crappy substitute for the real thing? I would gladly have ordered something different had I known, although early into a Friday night you would think they wouldn't already be out of one of their most basic staples. Everything besides the fish tasted old, hard and stale, like it was prepared yesterday afternoon and left under a fast food heat lamp, which may explain why, on a busy night, they cranked out our food a lot faster than our drinks, which came to our table sometime after dinner arrived. Even the service was a disappointment. Our waitress was heavy on the schlocky affectations and her "eccentricities," which included skipping, a terrible fake French accent, and weaving her hand in the air while speaking as if playing a theramin, were all about as genuine as the cement-like lump of instant mashed potatoes on my plate. I have been coming to this place since they first opened up on SE Belmont street in the 90's, when the quality of the food mattered and the people serving it were great servers with real personalities. It is hard to believe how much it's all gone downhill. There are too many good late night restaurants in town to accept what they're currently churning out. Let the kids go for the atmosphere. If food or service matters to you, go elsewhere.
Im a 45er. It looks like a dive but strangely its pretty clean the servers are usually nice and the average customer is crusty but well behaved. Awesome price on Bud Draft $2.25 during one of the 4 happy hours. Pizza is cheap and good here. Like 5$ bucks for a medium.
This place has bomb-ass Moscow mules. The food menu is a little grease-heavy, but that's a passing fad. Try the fish and chips or the reuben.
Uhh Lounge is closed. Whole building is up for rent.
Btw it has a chill vibe because the whole place was a mortuary and Lounge was the open casket area.
Ive heard some of the dead people there when I had too much whiskey and its quiet.
Hope Lounge reopens soon.
Ordered a ckn caeser salad n asked for lemons n got lemon slices. WTF. ARE U FREAKING KIDDING ME. WEDGES. And the ckn had no flavor. I pushed ckn aside n left food. How sad.
