Way overrated and way overpriced! I don't understand why people would stand in line for such bland food. I'll make breakfast at home next time
Fonda Rosa is really delicious. I also cannot belieeeve it would get any bad reviews. Chef Hugo truly cares about bringing the best food to his patrons, and it comes through in every dish I've had there. I have never had anything like this food anywhere else, and I love it! I agree the ceviche is fantastic, as are the spaghetti squash enchiladas. It may seem that they know a lot of people, and are friendly to them, but that is because these people are repeat customers who love friendly service, great food and will return again and again. That is what it appears like to me. I do not work there and am speaking as a customer - I think I'll go there tonight! Yum!
Sweet, a Caribbean dance party in Portland!
the sound sucks when you try to play in a concrete cube. this place is soulless, schizo, and takes itself way to seriously.
Hedge House is one of my favorite restaurants. Maybe I just have different tastes in food, but I'm always happy with the selection, particularly because they have some vegetarian sandwiches that are way more appealing the usual bar food options (you won't be stuck eating fries.) It doesn't hurt that the prices are reasonable. And the beer here is amazing! If you haven't tried any Lompoc brews before, you should just get the tasting set (8 small glasses of different beers, enough for a round for two people, or four who just want a taste, really tasty). The servers have always been friendly, but laid back. And, like everyone else said, the outdoor patio is lovely.
@ Abomb, the manager is probably from a city that doesnt practice hardly any kind of recycling....same probably goes for the busser.
this is closed now
Great new local restaurant/pub! My family and I came in for the grand opening. The special of the night was the pork, beans, etc. Fabulous food! Pork melted in my mouth. And I don't think I've ever had better baked beans. I'm not much of a beer connoisseur, but I sampled all of them and liked the raspberry beer. My husband was impressed. The chef prepares a different dessert every night, I believe. I tried a chocolate cake and -- delicious! This is not your everyday chain restaurant kind of food. Culinary treat. Atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, and fun.
Perfect for an evening out with family and friends. Way to go! We'll spread the word to Portland friends!
The wait staff is so-so. Nice, but scattered. I live in the neighborhood and even got to know the people on staff a little from frequenting the place. They take a lot of smoke breaks, get distracted and don't check back with you. You could need some ketchup for a really long time-- or sit with an empty beer for 15 minutes when you or your friend want a second one and it's not because they are busy, as they often aren't. Food's fine, pretty good beer selection.

CC's is one of my favorite bars in Portland. Writing as a straigt female, I may not be the key demographic, but I have never had a bad time with the CC's crew. Tourists see the flamboyant costumes and think that it is a place for drugs, sex and seedy people. Absolutly NOT the case. A great place for a party even at 4 in the afternoon! I have never met more honest people who know who they are and what they believe in despite popular opinion.
Any place that features Copy can't be less than 5 Stars! This time you get Truckasauras too!
I'm in! Dave is rad... the rooms are sweet and better than I've ever seen them.
So... EVERY THURSDAY AT MIDNIGHT I'll be hosting and DJing a brand new Blacklight Dance Party to welcome in the weekend!!!!!
Join me and Dave and a rebirth of an amazing theater for "BLASTCALL".
+ bring your requests and enjoy the custom projections on the badass movie screen while we glow together dancing
Get in there.
The Blue Monk has the greatest Happy Hour-Martinis for $4.50 and cheap amazing food deals! The beet Salad by far has my taste buds won over.....Fresh pasta dishes to garlic bread, Cheese and Bread plate, Shrimp tacos and their spicy tomato soup that's out of this world. I would recommend this as a great spot for a nice date night or even a girls night out!
P.S. Haven't met the new owner....I'm sure someday I will but Tim I love your spot!!!!!
Anything you get here will taste anywhere from passable to turdlike. The staff are either aliens or manifestly unaware of the restaurant they have created. One or two staff or staff-like persons come and go at random, and have not memorized, nor probably ever will memorize, their menu. Often, they do not have the necessary materials to prepare the food. Despite having been open for approximately a year, furnishings look brand new, and to add to the twilight-zone affectation, all the tables are set with plates, silverware and glasses. The rasta guy who waits will inevitably make a weird situation out of the tip.
Basically, Duke's Landing is legendary.
not your average place. if you're a yuppie, or obnoxious.
i love these digs. the vibe is good, the staff are seriously interesting, the clientele (mainly local band members or associates) are cool and great to talk with.
i've always found the drinks to be strong, the food to be solid, and the service to be iffy. but i'm not picky, so long as i'm not surrounded by uppity jerkwads and the basics are there. go!
Love this space. Enough room to dance, move and mingle. Love the front reception area and how they set it up so you can talk and have it separated from the music. This is my fav spot for dancing in Portland!
Great place, it's "Americanized" TEX-MEX and a Portland tradition just turning 50. If you like all kinds of Mexican food - "Fresh" style, street style and even the American version then you will enjoy this place. The menu is a value, portions nice, I love the salsa - maybe not the best but certainly the most consistent I've ever had - year to year the same flavors explode in your mouth! The place hasn't changed it's decor and that's part of the charm. If your really into "fresh" styles, their are a number of things on the menu that should help - Fajitas a good choice, etc. Just don't expect a "Baja Fresh" or a trendy joint that offers up a different fair.
Classic 1920's theater, cheap admission, comfortable seating, lots of variety in what they show, and you can drink beer while you watch the movie. It's genius!
The popcorn could use an upgrade though.
Good prices, great sound, loved the video projections up top.
