When did Paulsen's open their doors?
Do you have old pictures? I'm a member of Dead Memories Portland and thought it would be interesting to post some old pix's of this drug store. Thank you
great place love the people awesome job cutting and coloring my hair
It's the perfect place if you like darker styles and they have costumes!
Probably the worst massage I ever went to. I asked for neck and shoulder work and he spent all the time doing some woo woo BS over my calves.
503-839-8236 phone for this business is wrong.
HORRIBLE service!!! NO STARS!! Had my haircut in the back of the store by Ginger w/ "Devil's Haircuts" she was TOTALLY unprofessional and SCREWED up my hair! How hard is it to add layers? Really? If I wanted a mullet I would have done it myself! She had a terrible attitude and smelled like she hadn't bathed in weeks. NOT someone I would recommend to my worst enemy! I NEVER complain about a haircut no matter how bad it is but she really pissed me off! My friends go to Wood Pro for their hair styles and thanks to Ginger they've LOST customers.
Friendly people in a very comfortable atmosphere provide great results.
Tried unsuccessfully for a matter of months to schedule an appointment here for a gift certificate I received and never received a callback. I ultimately ended up getting a refund on the certificate (if you call Groupon they are aware of the less than stellar service that is being offered and they will refund your money). I would not recommend this business to anyone.
Planned Parenthood picked a winner when they set up shop on MLK blvd. This only roves the accusation that they are indeed targeting Blacks for genocide from abortion. This notion follows documentation that Planned Parenthood's racist founder: Margaret Sanger was a KLAN Speaker whose speech was so rousing that she received a dozen more KKK speaker invites. The entire Planned Parenthood empire is founded on the backs of eugenics and racism - just look up the "Negro Project." Also look up Maafa21, a stunning and fully documented film which plays the racist quotes for all to hear. You cannot be so blind as to support such an organization. Check them out- go here and view the Maafa21 trailer http://www.maafa21.com
This is the place! I didn't even realize it was there until I was getting pizza next door one day. Glad I found it! Great haircut. Cool cat that runs it. No gimmicks or "too cool for school" attitude. Just a real barber who loves what he does and is a master of his trade.
Come to find out a couple guys I work with go here too. Same experience for everyone. I don't think there's another in town who can give a haircut like this.
Shitty attitude of dude who gave me my tattoo. AT FIRST... the he softened up a little. They use sterile supplies and equipment. -hopefuly- I suppose it's a place worth returning to. It's just hard to shake off the attitude in the air. There's nothing worse than cockyness.
Best place to for Ki training in the world.... if you don't speak Japanese. :)
The Senseis are all volunteers, and they go back to Japan regularly to update their training and continue to learn and grow.
First class is free. Adults can drop in on a Tues or Thurs around 7 PM wearing comfortable clothes (not jeans). Kids class Weds evening and Saturday, check the website for more info. Gentle and safe for beginners.
Amy Cole at Tiger Lily is awesome. I have gotten 3 tattoos from her, and am very happy with all of them. One is words, one is from the children's book Harold and the Purple Crayon, and one is a uterus. I have had many compliments on how well-done the uterus is. I have always felt extremely comfortable with Amy as a person, as an artist, and with the shop overall (sanitation, atmosphere). Amy was also very patient, clear, open, and made me feel quite comfortable. I highly recommend her.
I cannot style my way out of a paper bag. This is Portland. We spend 317 days out of the year hidden under pea coats, gortex jackets and ironic sweaters. So your head is the most distinguishing characteristic you have. It is very important to sport a killer head o' hair. Being of the early-rising-slob persuasion I needed something that was feminine, messy, and manageable.
Miss Heather took very special care of my very special head. She struck a perfect balance between listening to my idealistic view of what I wanted my head to look like, and working with the reality of my fine hair, cowlicks and overall style. Err. Lack-there-of. And the space she works in is completely without that creepy sterile salon feel (or the trying-too-hard-to-be-hip barbershop) The inker upstairs is an incredible artist. So the walls are covered in his pieces, as well as some from a personal collection. Oh, and no weird *unsh-unsh-unsh* tunes or elevator music. Good stuff. In fact, I think they stole my iPod.
I get so many compliments on my coif. Housemates and coworkers dropped jaw. After a few weeks, it still wears well. I call my new style the "Joan from Mad Men, after women's lib when she quits Sterling-Cooper, moves in with Don Draper's mistress from season one and gets a job at a coffee shop in the village."
I panicked one afternoon before going on a 'date' that a friend of mine had set up for me. Disheveled and woolly, I called in and they had an opening.
I squeaked in and had a great time talking with all the stylists while Katie got me whipped into shape. The date was kind of a dud, but the girls at this salon will see me again. It was only a last minute cut, but the hospitality and the ego boost of chatting with a salon full of stylists is too much to resist. Thanks girls!
This is a great little place in Portland I went there to get my eyeglasses repaired and they did a wonderful job. They also have some of the best frames i have seen. the guy in there was really helpful and knew a lot about eyeglasses
