Re: “Russian Revolution

For what it's worth, "DaNet" does literally translate to "YesNo." However, when said together in Russian, they are an expression meaning "Of course not."

Also, David, your rendering "Nyet" is closer to how the Russian is pronounced than "Net." It's just a different choice in transliteration.

Re: “American Wiener

As much as I love all the places on this list. Sheridan's and fried onion I'm in love in industrial S.E. are the best dogs in Portland. You just have to get there early.

My name is Lisa and I am a hotdog-aholic. Michael's is my fave. http://michaelsitalianbeef.com/

Re: “American Wiener

Nick's Coney is a strange one to throw in there. It's all about the toppings, not so much the dog. The chili and what I have to imagine is Whiz make or break the damn thing, and you almost don't notice the hot dog or bun.
I also think they might have poisoned me last time I ate there, but that's of no concern for our conversation here today.

Who says Chicago dogs have cucumber on them? They definitely don't.

Re: “Wonton Desire

Exactly. I'm so done with carts. Sure, they're fine when you're in a hurry. But they were just another Portlandia (TM) trend, like beards, ukeleles and vintage eyewear.
Fuckall that Yuppie 4.0 shyhte.

Re: “Wonton Desire

I started to read this review and thought this was a real restaurant and then it starts talking about food carts? Like a roach coach? Is this a joke?

Re: “Losing My Religion

A friend and I were looking for a place in Sellwood and settled on Reverends. I ended up enjoying my meal despite a lot of the criticism around this place. While the ribs could be better, the Reverend burger and fried chicken were great. They definitely have areas where they can improve, but I'll definitely be going back.
