This colorful little taqueria is a longtime, popular standby in the NE Alberta neighborhood, and for good reason. Quick, inexpensive, flavorful Mexican standbys. A $3 burrito is easily a complete meal, but don't stop there: try their homemade tamales, enchiladas, and more. Plus the service... super nice!

Vegan chimichanga (almost the size of your head) with free guac and a butt load of salsa. No chips, but this is like eating three days worth of fat in one sitting. This place is friggin great.
They cast a powerful spell. Everything is delicious, plentiful, and amazingly cheap. They have vegan food (even spectacular tamales) and food to make the meat-eaters happy. The staff is nice, and the service is fast. The best place to sit is at one of those little window seats on either side of the door with the sun warming the room. A slice of heaven.
Best. Mexican. In. Portland. Period.
I love you, La Bonita. But I love the pretty boy even more! Lovely boy, who's name starts with a J, if I were a single man I would curl up with you in a minute and spend my days listening to you play guitar for me.
Wow... OK, so take it from someone who grew up in Mexico City and ate tacos al pastor from the local corrugated-tin-roofed-shack snack-stop there (there's one in every colonia: this is about as authentic as you're gonna find. No ifs, ands or buts. I nearly wept. Did I say Wow already? OK.
