The Oregon Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) is a tax-exempt, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization created in 2003 to help preserve Oregon's unique musical heritage. The focus of OMHOF is to recognize and promote the legacy of exceptional Oregon musicians while helping to preserve and enrich musical education programs in Oregon.
Activities include:
1. Yearly scholarships, awarded to selected graduating Oregon high school seniors
2. K-8 music assemblies designed to stimulate interest in music within Oregon's youth
3. An annual process of nominating, evaluating and voting on Hall of Fame inductees, based on various criteria including individual and group contributions to music in Oregon and the impact nominees have had on music around the world. Inductees are recognized annually in a formal ceremony held each October.
