The John Street Cafe does one thing and one thing only: brunch. In this case, "brunch" refers to both breakfast AND lunch. It sticks to what it knows, keeps it simple and does it well. The eggs are fresh, steaming, and not over-done. The pancakes are big and the sandwiches satisfying. Give it a try if you're around the St. Johns neighborhood, or drive out there for something a little different.
The domed building in St John's is chock full of history, from it's turn of the century inception as an exhibit for the Lewis and Clark Exposition to it's present day movie theater/pub status. The decor is a true testament to the McMenamin brothers' designers love for the eclectic and unique. Serving a slightly scaled-down McMenamin's menu and showing a number of current and second-run films daily, it's definitely a must, especially if you live in the area.
