Spherical - check out the link Ezra sent you. You will see how out of sync the ENTIRE Portland music community is. The Mercury gave us lowlifes a chance to vent our top 5 and it was fun! You should do it! I want to see what you like the best! After throwing a huge tantrum on my blog - *cough* Crappy Indie Music *cough* - for about a year I've come to realize that the influential people in this town don't like the music I like. Yet all of the bands I like still are allowed to play shows and make CD's and they do ALL OF THE TIME. My elders have been trying to convince me that a person's taste in music does not reflect their soul or lack thereof.
As far was WHITE is concerned... To say Portland lacks diversity is an understatement.
WTF?!??! I didn't even know Mogwai came out with a new album this year... I guess it pays to wade through the big shots top 5.
