"—harassment, if true, is completely unfair for the cart's workers." Lol - Dennis, this is exactly what makes you a worthless liberal. You're arguing that the activists which have opposed the Mayor's forcible removal of a religious vigil are at fault for opposing the commercialization of their protest site. That makes you a pathetic piece of shit who thinks that burritos somehow trump human lives. Go fuck yourself.
Quit beating around the bush and call a spade a spade - Hales is a professional liar who's in the pocket of the PBA. All of the actions taken by the city in recent weeks have been a thinly veiled war against the homeless. And this new found money is just a way of buying the complicity of various non profits in exchange for them keeping their mouths shut while policies of criminalization are enacted. This is certainly a win for the PBA and the non profit industrial complex, less so for the homeless who will continue to be targeted and harassed by the city and their hired thugs in the police department.
Lol! Really? Are you aware that the Mercury tracks all of your comments?
Let's break down the total number of comments posted:

Leaving aside the fact that "No, you are!" is just about the dumbest retort you could come up with, it's not even true. Go back to your day job losers.
It's a good thing that you morons, and online commenters in general, aren't indicative of popular opinion. Do you get paid to do this shit? Because you all sure do spend a lot of time on this website supporting the PBA and their strong men in city hall and the police department.
No, Denis. I've had the misfortune of following you for awhile. I wish I had the time to go through your past reporting and compare the times you've quoted regular people versus cops and politicians. Maybe in your investigative zeal you could research and let us know. Your problem is that you think that you think that reporting in an objective manner is your obligation. Objectivity in reporting is a myth - better to admit and own your biases. Supposed objectivity is like the creationists who argue that they must be given equal standing with evolutionists. Giving the word of the cops and the city any legitimacy strains credibility. That's why the media is so thoroughly mistrusted. Simply reporting on an issue without taking a side is what makes you worthless.
Denis - you're worthless. You spend an awful lot of time talking to lawyers, and cops, and politicians, but precious little time actually talking to homeless people and their advocates. This kind of matter of fact reporting on the City's line just makes you a mouthpiece for the establishment. You can't be neutral on a moving train.
Kids living on the streets are far more likely to be victims of violent crime rather than perpetrators of it. If you want to target violent criminals, why don't you start with the Police Department?
