I love the Roseway, but their popcorn has never been as good as the Hollywood's anytime I've ever been there. Not even close.
@ VEGAN, SHUTTING UP NOW!!: I've heard people at the theater ask that question, and I'm pretty sure the answer was 'yes'. But not being vegan myself I didn't really absorb the answer. Someone there will know, ask them, but I think it is.
The consensus I've heard is that the Hollywood has the best popcorn in Portland. They make it fresh (it's not pre-popped and bagged like a lot of other places). They don't have real butter, but the butter topping they use is good (soy-based, I think). Certainly some of the best popcorn that I've had in Portland, if not the best.
I have had kittens who climbed ALL THE WAY UP THERE, to sit on my shoulder, one clawed paw into my flesh at a time, completely on their own accord. We crouch down to speak to them on their level, why shouldn't they climb up to meet us on ours? But I do agree that they are not accessories. This is marginally a grey area, but I do suspect that most people who parade pirate-parrot-cats should have their knees capped.
I'm sure it will probably be good, BUT THIS CITY DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE THAI JOINTS. How about one decent Chinese place? Or some better Japanese? Or some good Malaysian to replace the closed Kinta and Malay Satay Hut? Burmese? ANYTHING EXCEPT ANOTHER THAI PLACE for fuck's sake.
Don't pull their liquor license, give them a TV show.
It's a church, so don't be surprised when 90% of the proceeds actually go to "administrative costs" and young male prostitutes.
