Re: “The First Four Minutes

One of the most important things to mention (and I don't see anyone here saying it) is that you MUST have an Earthquake Survival Kit: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/learn/topics/?t…

Most important - A reserve of water, food (protein bars), and cash. A hand crank radio with a light is also a good idea.

Portland Maps site has a good earthquake hazard map where you can see what type of ground you're living on in respects to the intensity of the shaking.

Re: “End of the Food Desert

I love the moniker "green-friendly chain". Many are ignorant to the fact that the chain sells product s that are far from green and support the mega corporations looking to dominate what the world eats. Monsanto? They also could care less about selling products that contain preservatives and artificial flavors, dyes, etc. Why?

Re: “The Continued Decline of Western Civilization

Wow my friend, how many rewrites did ya go through on this thing? I mean, a month out from the event? Trying a little too hard there Dostoevsky. I can just see you night after night cutting, pasting (he clicks on the Thesaurus) wait, no - cut again!! Then going for the most obvious label to pin on a "hippie" (whatever the hell that is) a tye-die. Good Christ man, get a little more creative with it. Mercury editors are really letting this already crap-rag go. Surely there was something better out there than this (and I'll quote 'em) "vomit".

And, in the purposes of disclosure - I don't know what Phish is.
