ZERO STARS, negative stars!!
My moms been going to the Tilly for YEARS...about 30 or 40 to be exact. It was her birthday night (60 and looken very good) and since she didnt get us to go there for new years eve (thank god), my boyfriend and I figured we would try it out.
Ive been there many time over the years myself, with and without the moms....so I knew having a good time is possible there.
I read these reviews and was startled at all the negative comments that were left. It had me wondering, is this the same Tilly?? After reading more, I discovered new owners.
The live music starts at 8 and was decent. I dont want to get much into details about the band, thats not the issue. The issue is the FOOD AND THE HORRIBLE RUDE OWNER!! I dont know her name, but the moment I saw her (the way to tight jeans that I was warned about) I knew it was her. We got a table towards the front and ordered our first round and looked over the menu. The order: Shot of jack and beer back, vodka soda and a Vodka cranberry. Drinks came pretty fast and the server was very nice. Next: 2 side salads and a small cup of soup. The salad was the smallest thing I had ever seen for 4.95 and was missing the cheese and the croutons the menu had listed. Next: round 2 for drinks, same order. Then dinner: 1 Tilly Dip, 1 Prime Rib Dip and Turkey Bacon Sand.
When the food got to the table, my jaw dropped!! Did my little cousin just make this food, did they make one basket of fries and split it between the 3 orders?? The Prime Rib Dip was a joke! In the past, the sandwiched had meet on them....what Happened?? It had ONE, SMALL slice....ONE!!! WTF, for an extra 3.00 you get less meat? Who was the big brain behind that one!!?? The Turkey sand was on white bread and resembled a grilled cheese sand that cost .90 cents to make, but I paid 8.75 (with about 15 french fries...I could count them). The Tilly Dip looked ok, but when my mom cleared her plate (to the last fry) that just confirmed that the portions sucked! My mom is 5'3 and weight 100 pounds...very small. She NEVER clears her plate (at other places, we share a dip and are stuffed).
THIS IS THE BEST PART OF ALL>>>>>>
The very nice waitress asks my boyfriend if he wants it all on the card. He confirms and she returns with his ticket (no detailed ticket, just visa slip for 48.00). He left the tip, signed and we thought we were done. THEN, the returns and says....heres the bad news...that was just for the drinks, here is the food ticket. WTF!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!! WHO DOES THAT!!! After the shock wore off, we paid for the other tab (mom actually did, she was pissed). She got her visa slip and was stating (very quietly and a private conversation) how the portions were small and the food was horrible and the owner poked her head in and said....whats the problem here?? OMG, we weren't talking to you! RUDE!! So, I proceeded to tell her that this place now sucks and its changed. She said....whats changed. I said EVERYTHING....the food, the prices, the quality of food. SHE THEN HAD THE NERVE TO ASK ME....how long has it been since you've been here?? LIKE THATS GONNA GET HER OFF THE HOOK....nice PR lady! Nice way to treat you over-paying customers.
Moral of the story : THE TILLY ISNT THE TILLY ANYMORE :(

We dropped off the mom on 185th and went to the Rock Creek Corner.
