FINALLY-great black theatre in Portland!! To say it is about time is an understatement. The play was supurb--the actors stellar. Particularly brilliant was Kevin Jones in his role as Old Joe. Every piece of him was believable as he relayed the wisdom of an elder watching his world crumble in the face of gentrification. Victor Mack, in the role of Sterling Johnson also gave an excellent, truthful performance. The chemistry between those two actors was some of the best I've seen in a long time. Hats off to Portland Playhouse and Base Roots for this excellent joint production.
