Guess what? went across the street to Scotty's. Staff is friendly and Drink was good.
Went to OMP one Sunday evening, The drink special is "bloody Mary" I witnessed the so called bar tender make a bloody mary that was so damn hot it was like putting a straw into a bag of crushed Habinero peppers and inhaling. I know, I tried a sip after the girl next to me said it was too hot to drink. this was after 2 attempts to dilute the drink by the patron. On top of that, the place reminds me more of a chucky cheeses than a pub. Full of minors and an open cafeteria type atmosphere. Oh and the girl with the Bloody Mary...she ended up asking for a well vodka and grapefruit, since the b.m. was not consumable, and the crack behind the bar charged her for the Bloody Mary and an up charge for the B.M. (after making the remark "next time don’t order a spicy one") I'll wont be back anytime soon, might try Scotty's across the street.
I've heard The Sandy Saunders Band many times and have always left thinking "this will be a night I'll remember" I've only seen her a couple of times at the Spare Room. There never seems to be much of a crowd to see this artist when she plays this venue, but the folks that come out are always very appreciative and seem to really enjoy the music she plays. The Spare Room is a cool, lounge, reminds me of a Reno Keno-bar. Sandy Saunders Band is a great 4 piece high energy country rock-blues band, I try to catch there shows every chance I can.
