I complain, but never without just cause.
"I don't buy that she got the book deal based on just the website content."
Oh, peaseblossom. Whether or not you "buy it" changes nothing, because it's true. Not that you care for the truth when it comes to Regretsy. Your mind was made up long ago.
"So climb down off my ass."
You're the one trying to gin up a conflict where none existed. You write articles, you're going to get feedback. Your cynical assertion that April got a book deal because of her preexisting "celebrity" status needed to be addressed and refuted. It is a false allegation. April was anonymous when the site went live. There was no backroom dealing going on. People liked it because they liked it. The site went viral for reasons that no one could have fully explained or anticipated. You should know this, of course, since April wrote the same thing to you in a comment to this article (a comment that you decided not to let through). Why did you not print her gracious and conciliatory comment? Could it be because you're more invested in keeping this bogus Regretsy v. Craftastrophe war going? You can't very well have the creator of Regretsy coming on here and sounding decent and respectful when you're trying to invent stories about craft blog wars, now can you?
